Patwon Ki Haveli from Vancouver

Vancouver to Patwon Ki Haveli

Visit the Patwon Ki Haveli from Vancouver

The brief

Visiting the Patwon Ki Haveli from Vancouver, Canada is a single managed mission with MyTripMyTravel. Flight: ~15 to 17 hrs (one-stop) to Delhi. Gateway: Delhi (DEL). On-ground in Jaisalmer: escorted access to the Patwon Ki Haveli, pre-arranged at the prime viewing hour, with a vetted guide and the chauffeured Elite Fleet from arrival.

Jaisalmer's five-haveli merchant cluster Patwon Ki Haveli (literally 'mansion of the brocade-traders') is a cluster of five havelis built between 1805-1860 by Guman Chand Patwa, a Jain merchant of Jaisalmer, India, for his five sons. Carved from local yellow sandstone, the cluster is among the finest examples of Rajasthani haveli architecture and the largest such complex in Jaisalmer.

From Vancouver, the routing is the first decision: Delhi (DEL) is the primary international gateway into Rajasthan, with a short chauffeured leg or domestic flight onward to Jaisalmer. Mumbai (BOM) is the alternative gateway, particularly for southern Rajasthan.

Vancouver is a long crossing with a significant time shift. We build a firm first-night recovery into the architecture, orientation only, no marquee sites on arrival day. Sleep, light evening, breakfast at the stay, monuments from day two. On the ground, the Patwon Ki Haveli is sequenced for the prime viewing window, entry: standard ticket to the museum haveli, rather than dropped into a generic city sightseeing block.

Beyond the Patwon Ki Haveli, Jaisalmer sits inside the wider Rajasthan Escapes; we plan the trip end to end on a single chauffeured architecture.

How we run the route

The Patwon Ki Haveli, what you're visiting

Patwon Ki Haveli is the most lavish of Jaisalmer's many merchant-house clusters, five havelis built between 1805-1860 by the Patwa family, who grew rich on the brocade and opium trade between Central Asia and the Indian peninsula. Guman Chand Patwa commissioned the cluster for his five sons; each haveli became a separate residence, but the facade reads as a single architectural composition along the street.
