February sits in the prime sightseeing month of the North India calendar, the kind of month that defines what you get from the trip more than any other variable, including the stay choice. March to June is warm and lovely, with the orchards in blossom and then fruit, and pleasant days for walks and the cliffs. September to November after the monsoon delivers the clearest, sharpest views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Panchachuli from the ridge. Winter, December to February, is cold with occasional snow and crisp, luminous panoramas for those who come prepared.
