Day 1. Delhi, Arrival & Bangla Sahib

Your chauffeur meets you at Delhi (DEL) and transfers you to your hotel to settle in.

In the evening you visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the most prominent Sikh temple in Delhi, with its golden dome and vast holy pool, a gentle, welcoming introduction to the Sikh faith you'll encounter fully in Amritsar.

Day 2. Amritsar, Shatabdi Express & Golden Temple by Night

You board the Shatabdi Express from Delhi to Amritsar, a comfortable day-train across the Punjab plains with meals served at your seat.

Day 3. Amritsar, Golden Temple Sunrise & Wagah Border

You return to the Golden Temple at sunrise for the peaceful morning prayers, and visit the langar, the world's largest free community kitchen, feeding tens of thousands daily.

A short walk away is Jallianwala Bagh, the memorial garden marking the 1919 massacre, its walls still scarred by bullet holes, a sombre, essential piece of Indian history.

In the late afternoon you drive to the India to Pakistan frontier for the Wagah Border ceremony, a theatrical, foot-stamping flag-lowering drill roared on by patriotic crowds.

Frequently asked

Is 8 days enough to combine Amritsar with the Golden Triangle?

Yes, this itinerary gives two nights in Amritsar for the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border, then a full Golden Triangle across Agra and Jaipur. It's a well-paced week; if you'd like a slower version we can add a night in each city.

What should I know about visiting the Golden Temple?

It welcomes visitors of all faiths. You'll cover your head (scarves are provided), remove your shoes and wash your feet before entering. Dress modestly, and consider joining the langar, the free community kitchen is one of the temple's most moving experiences.

Is the Wagah Border ceremony worth it?

Absolutely, the daily flag-lowering drill between Indian and Pakistani guards is loud, theatrical and deeply patriotic, watched by roaring stadium crowds. We arrange seating and time your arrival to beat the queues; it does involve some walking and waiting.

How do we travel to Amritsar?

By the Shatabdi Express, a comfortable air-conditioned day-train from Delhi with meals served at your seat. For the return we use the train or a short flight depending on your dates, flying frees up more time in Delhi.

Is this tour suitable for families and older travellers?

Yes, the pace is comfortable and the private car allows rest stops and flexible timing. The Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and monuments involve moderate walking; we adapt the Wagah visit and fort climbs for anyone who prefers to take it easy.

Can we customise or extend the tour?

Certainly, popular add-ons include Dharamshala and the Himalayan foothills beyond Amritsar, or Udaipur and Ranthambore after Jaipur. Tell us your dates and interests and we'll design a tailored plan and quote.
