Kausani in June

Timing changes everything in Kausani. June sits in the extreme heat into pre-monsoon of the North India calendar, the kind of month that defines what you get from the trip more than any other variable, including the stay choice. The clearest and most reliable Himalayan views come in September to November after the monsoon, and again through winter, the whole reason many people choose Kausani. March to June is warm and pleasant with spring rhododendron and generally good, if occasionally hazy, views. Winter, December to February, is cold with the sharpest panoramas and the chance of snow. The monsoon (July to mid-September) is green and atmospheric but clouds usually curtain the peaks and mountain roads can slip, so we plan around the risk. Because the view can be shy, we advise two nights to give the mountains a second morning.

For June specifically: Workable only for travellers fixed to summer dates. The standard Kausani architecture (gandhi's switzerland of india) is preserved; the day-pacing is rebuilt around this month's conditions.
