Day by day itinerary

1

Day 1. Goa, Arrival & Baga Beach Evening

Your chauffeur meets you at Goa's Dabolim airport (or the new Mopa/Manohar terminal) and transfers you to your North Goa resort, roughly 45 minutes to an hour depending on the beach belt you choose.

After check-in and time to settle, you head out to Baga Beach for the evening, the liveliest stretch on the Calangute to Baga strip, with its shacks, live music and a first taste of Goan seafood as the sun drops into the Arabian Sea.

Airport → North Goa · ~45 to 60 minOvernight in North GoaNone (arrival day)

Day 2. North Goa, Fort Aguada & Vagator Beach

The morning belongs to the 17th-century Fort Aguada, a Portuguese bastion above the Mandovi estuary with its landmark lighthouse and sweeping views over Sinquerim beach, built to guard against Dutch and Maratha raids.

In the afternoon you move north to the dramatic red-cliff coves of Vagator and Chapora, where the ruined Chapora Fort looks down over the headland. It is an easy day of short hops with plenty of beach time built in.

Day 3. Old Goa, Churches, Basilica & Mangueshi Temple

You drive into Old Goa, the former Portuguese capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to see the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which holds the relics of St Francis Xavier, and the vast whitewashed Se Cathedral, once the largest church in Asia.

The route then turns inland to the Shri Mangueshi Temple at Ponda, one of Goa's most revered Hindu shrines, showing the Konkan side of the state that the beaches hide. You continue on to your South Goa hotel for the night.

North Goa → Old Goa → South Goa · ~2 to 2.5 hrs across the dayOvernight in South GoaBreakfast

Day 4. South Goa, Palolem Beach & Sunset Cruise

A full, unhurried day at Palolem, the crescent-shaped palm-fringed bay in South Goa that is calmer and more scenic than the northern beaches, ideal for swimming, kayaking, or a dolphin-spotting boat trip.

In the evening you board a sunset cruise (Palolem backwaters or a Mandovi river cruise, depending on your base) to close the day on the water with the coastline glowing gold.

Day 5. Goa, Departure

After breakfast and a final morning by the sea, your chauffeur transfers you to the airport for your onward flight.

If your flight is late, we can arrange a leisurely lunch or a last beach stop, and luggage storage on request, so you use every hour of the day.

Frequently asked

Which is better for this trip, North Goa or South Goa?

You get both. North Goa (Baga, Vagator, the forts) is livelier, with shacks, markets and nightlife, while South Goa (Palolem) is quieter, greener and better for relaxing. The itinerary bases you in the north first, then moves south, so you sample each mood.

Is Goa worth visiting in the monsoon?

It depends on what you want. June to September is lush, dramatic and cheap, with waterfalls and empty beaches, but seas are rough, most water sports and shacks close, and swimming is often unsafe. For classic beach weather, come November to February.

How much time do the drives take?

Goa is compact. Most sightseeing hops are 30 to 60 minutes, and the longest transfer, the North-to-South shift on Day 3, is around two to two-and-a-half hours spread across sightseeing stops, so no day feels like a long drive.

Are the beaches and cruise suitable for families?

Yes. Palolem's calm, shallow bay is well suited to children, and the sunset cruise is gentle and family-friendly. The private car means flexible timings, rest stops and no early group departures.

Do we need to dress conservatively for the churches and temple?

Beachwear is fine on the sand, but Old Goa's churches and the Mangueshi Temple expect covered shoulders and knees; the temple also requires you to remove footwear. We flag this before each visit so you can carry a scarf or change.

Can you extend the trip or add water sports and Dudhsagar Falls?

Absolutely. Popular add-ons include a Dudhsagar Falls jeep safari, scuba diving at Grande Island, a spice-plantation lunch, or extra beach nights. Send your dates and we'll tailor the plan and quote.
